New Category (Advanced)
New Category (Advanced)
A category is used to group items together; these can include products, services and packages (e.g. Footwear, Haircuts and Meals). After adding a category to your inventory it will be visible in the inventory page. The advanced option allows you to add far more category details such as availability, tax and sub categories.
Once a category has been created, you may begin adding and selecting items to be listed in that category.
Tap on Advanced Info to add in further details.

Category Details
Here you can input a greater amount of detail, including active status, category location and if the category is to be colour coded.

Availability
Tap ‘Availability’ and you will be shown this page. Use this section to restrict the times for when this category is available.

Show in POS
Choose whether or not you want this category to appear in the POS module. There may be some categories which you use to group items but have no purpose in being in the POS (e.g. Cocktail Ingredients).

Availability
Tap anywhere inside the availability field where the days are displayed.
This will open up the window below, enabling you to choose the availability.

Tap the blue plus icon to set the availability times of this category.

You can select multiple times of availability throughout the day.

You may also make a category completely unavailable for a specific day(s) by tapping on the calender icon with the name of the day written on it (e.g. MON).

Doing this will remove the blue plus icon and deactivate availability for that day.
To undo this, re-tap the calender icon.

Tax
Tap ‘Tax’ and you will be shown the page below.

Tap to select which taxes are applicable to the category. A green check mark indicates the tax is applied, while the orange cross indicates it is not applied.

If necessary, an override value can be applied. Tap one of the fields and use the numerical keypad to input a figure.

Tap the exchange icon to choose whether the override value is in currency or percentage.

Tap the clear button to clear an override value. This will return the tax to the default value.

Sub Categories
Tap ‘Sub Categories’ and you will be shown this page.

Tap on ‘Add Sub Category’ to create a more specified category.

This will open a small window, enabling you to type in a name for the new sub category (e.g. Oxford Shoe).

Tap on the sub category and slide your finger to the left. This will reveal three icons, the blue plus icon will add a second level sub category, the pencil icon is to edit and the bin icon is to delete.

Tap the black check mark to save the sub category.

A newly created category will appear on the left-hand side of the inventory home screen.

Rearrange the order of categories by tapping the burger icon, followed by tapping on Category Order Priority.

This will prompt a pop-up menu to appear. Tap the ordering icon and drag the category to the position you would like it to be in.
