How to Create Custom Fields
Custom fields can be created to save any type of information extending your data capturing abilities. You can design a number of custom data fields in the form of textboxes, number boxes, dates, times, or combo boxes, enabling you to capture every piece of necessary information, however specific.
Begin by tapping on the Settings button, as highlighted below.
Tap on the Customers category located on the left-hand side, which will expand its sub-categories, followed by tapping on Custom Fields.
To create a new custom field, which will then appear in the Customers module for adding both Individual and Business customers, tap on New Custom Field button, as highlighted below.
There are several field types to cover different types of information.
Number Box: A box which allows you to input numbers via a number keypad.
Date: A box designed to allow you to enter a date.
Time: A box designed to allow you to enter a time.
Combo Box: A field which allows you to select preset values from a drop-down list.
Select whether or not the custom field is active. If No is selected, the custom field will not appear in the Custom Fields category when adding a new customer.
Input the name of the field - this will be the name that appears here in Settings.
This will be the title of the custom field shown in the Custom Fields category when adding a customer.
The value you enter here will be automatically shown in the custom field when adding a customer.
Combo Box Values
Add values which will appear as selectable options in the drop-down menu for this custom field.
Using Custom Fields
After creating the custom field in Settings, it will appear in the Custom Fields category when adding a new customer, as shown in the example below, which displays a Combo Box with its selectable values.
